Biography
Dr. Ekstrom played a key role in the development of the IT and Cybersecurity program at BYU, as well as nationally through his involvement with the ACM and SIG-ITE communities and ABET accrediting body. Professionally, before serving as a faculty member at BYU, he had 30 years of software development and senior management experience. His research explored IT and Cybersecurity education, as well as the intersection of IT and linguistics. He is the former Program Chair of the Information Technology program at BYU. Dr. Ekstrom retired in 2017. He is the father of 5 children and has 19 grandchildren.
